Hello, a bit about me:
I’m a PhD'ed geneticist and molecular neuroscientist specializing in neurodegenerative diseases and RNA pathogenesis. You can find out about my personal and professional life here.
The goal of this website is to provide a glimpse into the life of a female scientist - doing awesome research while enjoying life outside of the laboratory. Currently I am affiliated with MassGeneral Institute of Neurodegenerative Disease at Harvard Medical School. I am a native of Istanbul but I have been living in the US since 2009. I have worked in numerous laboratories in Turkey, Germany and the US; utilized various laboratory organisms from mice to flies; and applied diverse molecular and imaging techniques to understand cell biology in healthy and diseased states.
My Turkish blog is specifically for Turkish science readers to explain basic science concepts and for STEM students to inspire them to continue with their science education.
